A Bit About Us

The owner, Heather Brownlee, started out making glass tile pendants with generic graphics to present as Christmas gifts to her friends and family.    After making over 100 gift pendants, the technique was perfected and a good friend asked, "Can you put a photograph of my kids on one of these?" Charmed by Heather was born.

Another round of personalized photo pendants was distributed as Mother's Day gifts in the Spring of 2009 and before we were even set up to take orders, they started pouring in.  To simplify the order process, an Etsy store was opened under the name, "Charmed by Heather" in August of that year.  Since then, our custom photo product line has expanded and is now being offered as boutique merchandise.  Beyond that, we spent numerous hours in research, development, and quality testing in an effort to offer our customers the finest handmade photo jewelry available on the internet today.

As our business grows, we are adding new lines of one of a kind handmade jewelry, including Boot Bling, Charmed Noir-a cross between Steam Punk and antique Victorian mourning jewelry, and hand forged sterling silver and copper jewelry.

An new Etsy shop named, Personally Charmed Overstock and Destash, was opened in 2011 to help us shed some of the supplies we've accumulated in the last few years.  You can find jewelry making supplies such as beads, filigree, and findings here.

Copyright Policy and the Use of Professional Photographs

If the picture you want to use was taken by a professional photographer, you will need written permission to have it reproduced as a piece of jewelry.  Please ask the photographer to send you a photo release form.  Many photography studios include this with a picture package purchase while others may charge a small fee.  Photographs that are obviously professional portraits must include a release before work will be started.
